Diane Shaskin and Mark Craft are food and travel writers who have been immersed in the culinary scene of France for nearly two decades, writing about the food, the wine, the people.

 

In addition to those years of experience, Shaskin & Craft spent a full year researching and collecting the information for Chasing Stars, including two months in France visiting one-star restaurants, interviewing the chefs, eating the food and drinking the wine. That’s the length they’re willing to go to for their readers.

 

Shaskin and Craft are the creators of the top Paris online travel guide, Paris Insiders Guide, where travelers can find everything they need to know about the City of Light including what to do, what to see and where to eat.

 

Their previous book, How to Cook Bouillabaisse in 37 Easy Steps, was a Paris Gourmand International Cookbook Award Winner. It’s the story of their culinary adventures in Paris & Provence; a memoir of travelling, living and cooking in France’s two most treasured regions.

 

Their other books include The Paris Gourmet Food Guide and The Planet Organic Market Cookbook.

 

They have founded and managed many successful businesses, among them Canada’s leading organic grocer, Planet Organic Markets. Craft is also an award-winning photographer.

 

When they’re not in France they can be found on Vancouver Island, where they live with their son and reluctant traveler, Alexandre.
